He's here!

Our sweet baby boy is here! Ethan was born on Aug 23rd. I have had alot of people ask me how the labor went. I really don't even know where to begin. I think I will go with the long story short. I had to be induced on exactly 40 weeks. I labored for 23 hours. I was throwing up and shaking like crazy the whole time. After 23 hours my doctor decided it was time to do a c-section. This was definitely not what we had wanted or planned for but this baby hadn't dropped and I was on twice the amount of pitocin normal people needed for labor. My body was exhausted and things just weren't happening. Fifteen minutes later I was being prepped and taken to the Operating room. 15 minutes later our sweet baby was here and I was done! Holy cow things moved fast but I was grateful for it. Ethan immediately started crying and our healthy 8 pound 11 ounce boy had arrived. He was a big baby for little me! I was pretty much out if it the rest of the night and in a TON of pain the next couple of weeks. Since I had labored so long and my uterus was so tired before the surgery my recovery could take a little longer. I am so grateful for my sweet husband who took care of me and our baby! He really is an angel. We have also had so much help from our parents which has been such a blessing. Our mothers have both come up to help me get some rest for recovery and to help with the housework. We really have such sweet mothers and we appreciate them so much!

Babies are so much work but they are worth it! Ethan is now 5 weeks old. I cannot believe how fast time goes. He is such a joy! Exhausting, but a joy. We just love our little nugget so much! We are glad that he is here and is so healthy. Life is good....
